Who Are The Lions?

International Lions Clubs is a philanthropic organization that meets the needs of communities across the world providing support of peoples’ health, social circumstances and other. The 1.4 million members of our volunteer organization in over 200 countries and geographic areas are different in many ways but share a core belief: Community is what we make.

Founded in 1926, the Englewood Lions Club serves our local community by supporting causes concerning diabetes, hunger, and homelessness, from preschoolers getting early eye exams to giving seniors and single moms support at the holidays with food and gifts.

We Serve Our Community

Our club holds fundraisers throughout the year, and we have fun while we help others: From a shred-a-thon to blood drive. Our club is small and flexible enough to meet some of the immediate, unforeseen needs that affect our neighbors. We volunteer for projects such as distributing food in partnership with IFCS (Integrated Family and Community Servicers). We plant flowers in Belleview Park. We paint neighborhood facilities that need a little TLC. We have “phun” with our philanthropy. The make-up of Lions’ Clubs is diverse and includes women and men, people of color, young and old, and LGBTQ – anyone interested in making their corner of the world a safer, healthier, happier place.

The Lions’ Pledge

I pledge allegiance to my country and to the cause of peace throughout the world. I believe in the principles of Lionism as contained in the Lions’ Code of Ethics. I am proud to be a lion, dedicated to the service of others.

Get Ready for the 2024 6 Dot Dash!

The National Federation of the Blind of Colorado 6 Dot Dash presented by Comcast is an annual 5k event to raise awareness and funds for the National Federation of the Blind of Colorado/Colorado Center for the Blind.  Your support helps provide Braille literacy and blindness skills training, scholarships for deserving blind students, summer camps for blind children, and so much more.

This year's race is August 24, 2024!  The 5k course will be the traditional out and back to Reynolds Landing, starting and finishing at the Colorado Center for the Blind. For those unable participate with us in person, we still have the virtual 5k option.

Eyeglass donations:

We collect used eyeglasses (but NOT eyeglass cases - please discard prior to donation). They are taken to facilities where they are cleaned and the prescriptions are read. They are then made available to missionaries and others going to other countries where eyesight care is lacking.

Check out our locations of donation boxes at businesses, we have 2 permanent drive-up boxes. The first, is on the sidewalk outside Any and All Bikes, 3444 South Broadway, Englewood CO. Our second, is outside the Englewood Civic Center, 1000 Englewood Parkway, Englewood CO.

The Englewood Lions Club donation locations also accept donations of hearing aids.
